Basic Description
The prefabricated all steel galvanized hopper bottom grain silo is a standardized modular steel made grain storage equipment. With all steel prefabricated bolt assembled structure, hot dip galvanized anti corrosion technology and hopper bottom design, it is a mainstream intelligent grain storage facility for modern grain storage, turnover and grain processing industries.
Different from traditional concrete silos requiring castin place construction, all components are pre manufactured in factory with standardized specifications and assembled on site by bolts without welding work. It features fast installation, flexible disassembly & reassembly and relocatable reuse.
The whole silo is treated with double sided hot dip galvanizing, with a zinc coating weight of no less than 275g/m². Higher grade galvanization (350-600g/m²) or stainless steel material is available upon customization. Boasting outstanding rust proof, moisture proof and anti oxidation performance, it can serve outdoors for 25-30 years or longer.
Thanks to the inclined hopper bottom structure, grain can be discharged automatically by gravity flow. No manual silo cleaning or complicated bottom discharging equipment is required. Grain is completely discharged with almost no residue. It is ideal for storing various free flowing granular grains such as wheat, corn, rice and soybeans, suitable for both short term turnover and medium term storage. With high compatibility for mechanized and automated operation, it has been widely adopted to replace traditional concrete silos and simple flat bottom grain storage facilities.

Main Components
Adopting modular split type structure with stable overall performance and well defined components, the grain silo mainly consists of five core parts: silo roof system, silo cylinder, hopper bottom discharging system, supporting steel frame and auxiliary accessories (temperature measuring, ventilation and level monitoring system). All steel made parts are hot dip galvanized for integrated anti corrosion and long service life.
Silo roof System
It is composed of galvanized roof panels, top beams, ventilation skylights, maintenance manholes and feeding inlets. The curved rain proof design delivers excellent sealing performance, effectively preventing rainwater, dust and pests from entering the silo. Standardized feeding ports are reserved for direct connection with elevators and conveyors to realize automatic grain feeding. Ventilation & dust removal structures are equipped to ensure smooth air circulation inside the silo and avoid grain dampness caused by poor ventilation.
Silo Cylinder
As the main grain storage section of the silo, it is assembled from high precision hot dip galvanized corrugated steel plates, vertical reinforced columns and horizontal ring beams with special anti corrosion bolts. The smooth inner wall of corrugated plates leaves no dead corners or protrusions to prevent grain adhesion and residue. Reinforced steel structure greatly improves the silo’s wind resistance, earthquake resistance and pressure bearing capacity to withstand lateral grain pressure and harsh outdoor loads. Interfaces for temperature measurement, ventilation and fumigation are reserved on the silo body to match intelligent grain monitoring devices.
Hopper bottom Discharging System
It is the core featured structure of the equipment. The high strength galvanized steel plate is integrally pressed into a conical hopper. The regular hopper inclination angle ranges from 45° to 70°, which can be optimized according to specific grain types to eliminate grain arching and bridging problems. A dedicated discharge valve and chute connector are installed at the lowest point of the hopper. Fully automatic gravity discharging realizes thorough grain outflow with zero residual grain without manual cleaning, which is its key advantage over flat bottom steel silos.
Supporting Steel frame System
It consists of vertical support legs and annular connecting beams made of national standard I beams and channel steels. The elevated design lifts the silo off the ground to prevent moisture erosion to both silo and stored grain, meanwhile leaving sufficient space at the bottom for installation and operation of discharging and conveying equipment. Uniform stress distribution ensures stable and non deformable performance for long term outdoor load bearing operation.
Auxiliary Components
Including external access ladder, safety guardrail, internal maintenance platform, sealing strips, high strength anti corrosion bolts (Grade 8.8S/10.9S), intelligent temperature measuring cables, ventilation ducts and fumigation devices. These accessories fully satisfy requirements of equipment inspection, safety protection, grain freshness preservation and pest control, realizing standardized management during the whole grain storage cycle.
